Fort Wayne TFT Cottage Classes Starting in Jan 2012
Training for Triumph Class Descriptions for Fort Wayne Classes
TFT Cottage Classes will be held in Fort Wayne on Mondays at First Assembly of God. CQLA classes run for sixteen weeks; composition classes run for twelve weeks.

CQLA Level A: $15/week for 2 to 3 hour class (depending on enrollment) plus book; invoiced monthly
For Students at a 4th through 5th grade writing level; complete language arts, including copy
work, vocabulary, spelling, comprehension, grammar, usage, editing, prewriting, editing,
composition, creative writing, and dictation. Class is limited to eight. Taught by Donna Reish and Joshua Reish.
CQLA Level B: $15/week for 2 to 3 hour class (depending on enrollment) plus book; invoiced monthly
For students at a 6th, 7th, or 8th grade writing level; complete language arts, including copy
work, vocabulary, spelling, comprehension, grammar usage, editing, prewriting, editing,
composition, creative writing, and dictation. Class is limited to eight.
CQLA Level C: $15/week for 2 to 3 hour class (depending on enrollment) plus book; invoiced monthly
For Students at a 9th through 12th grade writing level; complete language arts including copy
work, vocabulary, spelling, comprehension, grammar, usage, editing, prewriting, editing,
composition, creative writing, and dictation. Students may count each semester as one
semester credit for high school English/ Comp. Class is limited to eight.
Research Reports for High School; $10/week plus book
For students at an 8th-12th grade writing level. This class will focus on four research report of incrementally more difficult skills. MLA citation method will be taught. This course uses Meaningful Comp: Five Research Reports.(Samples at website.) Taught by Donna Reish
Junior High Composition: $10/week plus book
This class will contain many writing projects, including, but not limited to, Key Word Outline projects, Checklist Challenge, essays, reports, stories, and more. Students in grades 6 through 9 writing level are welcome to attend. Projects will range between four paragraphs and eight paragraphs in length. This course uses Meaningful Comp 6 I: Long and Strong. Taught by Joshua Reish/Donna Reish.
Leo TFT Cottage Classes Starting Jan 2012
Training for Triumph Class Descriptions for Leo Winter/Spring 2012
Training for Triumph will be offering Cottage Classes again during the second semester in Leo , Indiana . Classes will run from January 5, 2012 for twelve weeks, excluding the FWAHS drama week, through the first part of April (ending date will depend upon weather; classes will meet for twelve weeks).
NOTE: Some of these are not listed on the registration form–pen them in as these are the real offerings as long as we get a good enough turn out for each one.
Intermediate Creative Writing—8:30-10:00; 7th-10th grade level; $10/week plus book
Various types of creative writing: essays, timelines, what if, stories, Key Word Outlines with descriptive
and literary techniques, advanced short story writing techniques, various outlining techniques, and
Checklist Challenge taught. Final papers will be six to twelve paragraphs in length. No MC or CQLA
experience needed. Uses MC 7 II: Completely Creative. (See samples at website.) Taught by Joshua Reish.
Elementary/Middle School Speech—8:30-10:00; 4th through 8th grade level; $10/week plus book
This class will introduce upper elementary/middle school students to public speaking through a variety of fun speech projects, including introductions, 5 W, re-telling, biographical, dramatic, informative, and more. Taught by Cami Reish Gross.
Middle School Composition—10:00-11:30; 4th through 6th grade level; $10/week plus book
This class will focus on all types of composition at the beginning writing level for middle school students. Students will learn the Key Word Outline approach, TFT’s Checklist Challenge, essay writing, report writing, story writing, and more. This is a good course for the middle school student who is ready to move beyond one or two paragraph writing up to six paragraph projects with sources. This course will use Meaningful Composition 5 I: Writing for Real. (See samples at website.) Taught by Joshua Reish.
Speech and Debate—10:00-1:00; 7th through 12th grade level; $15/week plus book
This three-hour weekly course covers public speaking and basic debate skills in a fun, safe
environment. Kids will give speeches dozens of time, practice debate skills with interesting, fun, and
relevant topics, and more! Students in seventh through twelfth grade levels are welcome. Worth one
credit of public speaking and one credit of debate for high school credits. Taught by Cami Reish Gross and Joshua Reish.
World History II—1:00-2:30; 7th-12th grade level; $10/week plus handouts
Beginning with the Fall of the Roman Empire (500 AD or so). Taught with beautiful, extensive, detailed
PowerPoint presentations and handouts by a history graduate, Joshua Reish.
Research Paper—2:30-4:00; 10th through 12th grade level; $10/week plus handouts
For upper level high school students who have had extensive writing experiences. Student will write one
twenty to thirty page research paper (including front and back matter) using ten to twenty sources with
