Freedom to be different 3.<\/strong> Giving kids grace doesn\u2019t mean there are not <\/p>\n <\/p>\n 1.<\/strong> Misunderstanding it\u2014thinking it means anything goes or hands off parenting <\/p>\n Bottom Line in Grace-Based Parenting (and Raising Kids With Character!):<\/strong> Treat our children the same way that God treats us<\/p>\n Definition Mulligan:<\/strong> an informal golf terms that means giving an extra stroke after a poor shot that is not counted against the golfer<\/p>\n Walleyball-<\/strong>–played in racquetball court; smaller court than volleyball; walls to hit it off of and walls\/ceiling to be \u201cout\u201d<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Mulligans in Our Walleyball Game<\/strong><\/p>\n 1.<\/strong> Younger Niece; small; had trouble with serves <\/p>\n <\/p>\n No Mulligans<\/strong><\/p>\n 1.<\/strong> Me: High school (albeit not great!) volleyball player <\/p>\n <\/p>\n What to Do With Kids\u2019 Behaviors<\/strong><\/p>\n 1.<\/strong> Grace? <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Mulligans in Life<\/strong><\/p>\n 1.<\/strong> Niece\u2014smaller; give to child who is struggling or weak <\/p>\n <\/p>\n No Mulligans in Life?<\/strong><\/p>\n 1.<\/strong> Strong people <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Print this post here<\/strong>!<\/a><\/p>\nGrace-Based Parenting<\/h3>\n
\n2.<\/strong> Allows kids four freedoms<\/p>\n
\nb. Freedom to be vulnerable
\nc. Freedom to be open
\nd. Freedom to make mistakes<\/p>\n
\nconsequences or that we do not correct our kids
\n4.<\/strong> Means that our relationship is never at risk due to their behavior
\n5.<\/strong> Means our love never changes based on the freedoms we give them (above)<\/p>\nProblem Isn\u2019t With Grace-Based Parenting; Problem With People\u2019s Interpretation of It<\/h3>\n
\n2.<\/strong> Misusing it\u2014just like we mishandle God\u2019s grace towards us, we mishandle the grace we give our kids<\/p>\n

\n2.<\/strong> Those who are in need of \u201creality training\u201d (hot dogging it)
