<\/a><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Listen to Ray’s podcast here!<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n <\/p>\n a.<\/strong> Welcome<\/p>\n b.<\/strong> Our story: How we discovered Husband-Wife Meetings and their impact<\/p>\n c.<\/strong> The power of weekly and\/or monthly changes in a home<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n a.<\/strong> Head\/leader\/servant leader\u2014Janitor<\/p>\n b.<\/strong> \u201cDwell with your wife according to knowledge\u201d I Peter 3:7<\/p>\n c.<\/strong> Up to you to lead\/initiate changes and improvement in your family; your wife is your\u00a0helpmate<\/p>\n d.<\/strong> Security in wife and children comes from their knowing that you are close to God and you\u00a0want the best for your family.<\/p>\n e.<\/strong> Wife and children feeling loved comes from their knowing that their husband\/father is\u00a0willing to sacrifice his time, hobbies, interests, work pursuits, etc. for them<\/p>\n <\/p>\n A.<\/strong> Husband-Wife Meetings<\/strong>\u2014call whatever you want \u201cchange meeting\u201d or \u201cimprovement\u00a0meeting\u201d or \u201cneed-meeting session\u201d!<\/p>\n i. Meet weekly to talk through things in general and to check on the change you are working\u00a0on<\/p>\n ii. Be sure that a change has concrete steps to make it happen<\/p>\n a.<\/strong> Not more devotional time as a family but meal time reading together four times a week<\/p>\n b.<\/strong> Not improve Johnny\u2019s reading but \u201cread aloud sessions\u201d with Johnny twice a day four\u00a0days a week\u2014once with Mom and once with Dad plus daily phonics lessons\/review with\u00a0mom<\/p>\n c.<\/strong> Not help Sally have better attitude but attitude check up meetings before bed; one hour\u00a0alone with Mom and one hour alone with Dad each week; develop and follow through on a\u00a0non-confrontational signal we will use to remind her that her tone and response are not\u00a0acceptable; talk about what is frustrating her and how we can help her accept things she is\u00a0discontent with or help her make changes in the areas that are in her control<\/p>\n <\/p>\n B. Daily Connect Times\u2014\u201ccouch time\u201d or \u201ctwalk\u201d or \u201ctravel phone time\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n a.<\/strong> Lets children know that Mom comes first<\/p>\n b.<\/strong> Lets wife know that when you get home (or on the way home to use drive time\u00a0efficiently), she will have your undivided attention for a little bit<\/p>\n c.<\/strong> Lets family know that you care about what went on that day and that you truly\u00a0want to be a part of their day<\/p>\n d.<\/strong> Helps you know the needs better for the evening<\/p>\n <\/p>\n C. Dates\u2014whenever possible<\/strong><\/p>\n a.<\/strong> Be creative if have small children (pizza or pie date after kids are in bed; our old ping\u00a0pong dates after bedtime; coffee or dessert when kids are asleep; whatever you can afford is\u00a0better than nothing)<\/p>\n b.<\/strong> Set aside time and money for this and initiate setting the dates up (don\u2019t wait for her to\u00a0beg you for a date)<\/p>\n c.<\/strong> If you are not good at setting up dates, let her do it but ask her specifically to do it\u00a0(don\u2019t make her beg you for a date!)\u2014for example, \u201cI was hoping we could go on two dates\u00a0this month. Is it possible for you to line them up on any of our available times\/days\u2014you\u00a0get the sitter and the time, and I\u2019ll pay!\u201d \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n d.<\/strong> If the first two connection times are in place, the date will be much more enjoyable for\u00a0both of you (not as many problems to solve!)<\/p>\n e.<\/strong> Try to do a date a week\u2014even if half or more of them are at home…just the act of\u00a0setting aside the time is huge to a wife<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Print this post here<\/a><\/strong>!<\/p>\nI.
