While it’s extremely insightful, unfortunately I find myself on the other end of the spectrum…comparing & feeling that my children/I fall short. This just feeds a critical spirit and can cause my children, at times, to feel they can’t do anything right. This is equally as dangerous…if not moreso.

I guess that comparison of any kind is unhealthy and leaves God out of the equation, when he should be at the center of our parenting, and as you’ve already stated, the one we should be aiming to please.
